Thomas Raeth’s late father, Heinz Raeth, founded the company in 1958. Thomas started helping out as a teenager and then went on to earn a degree in ornamental horticulture from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Upon his graduation, Thomas Raeth joined his father’s company and was soon designing and installing award-winning gardens. He has traveled to gardens all over the globe, including Japan, the Caribbean, Europe and throughout the United States. He adds that world-wide exposure to his company’s design skills.
